Hello to all my friends and fans!
I want you guys to get to know me as more than just a person sitting behind a computer writing books and making posts on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, so I thought I would share with you a few things I am passionate about, in no particular order.
I'm a Christian. I can't hide it. I don't know how. The Unnamed Chronicles makes it clear that I am a Christian, and if you can read through those books and think I'm not, I think you've missed something in your reading. The Cursed series, which I'm currently writing, does not mention God by name, but I think if you read the books, you can find things that have been influenced by my faith. I'm always glad to talk to anyone about my faith, and though I may not know all the answers...I'll try my best.
I don't have children of my own, but I work as a paraprofessional/paraeducator at a nearby elementary school. Those kids are as much mine as if I'd given birth to them. I do my best to show love to every child that comes into my life. I care that they learn. I care that they are loved and treated with respect. I care that they can go home to be loved there. And, seeing as most of the kids I work with have some sort of learning disabilities, I care that people don't brush them aside just because they aren't "normal" (what's normal anyway?).
In case you didn't notice, one of my biggest passions is writing. I live and breathe books. I wish I had more time to read and write, but I don't. I spend my time thinking of things for my books, plotting scenes, imagining scenarios, and so much more. My writing has made me get out of my comfort zone. I have to talk to strangers. When I take my books to a show, I have to be extremely outgoing, just so people will look at my books. But I do it, because I love my books, and want to share them with the world.
I'm passionate about mental health, because, even today, there are a lot of problems with the way mental health is viewed. I've battled depression and anxiety almost my entire life. I honestly can't remember a time when feeling 100% happy was the norm, not a treat. I care about mental health because there are too many people being told that they either need to take medication, or that they shouldn't.
Another big reason I'm passionate about mental health is because I'm a Christian, and I see too many Christians putting other Christians down because of their mental state. I could write an entire blog post about that, and maybe someday I will, but now is not the time to get into that. You'd see my passion really quickly!
I know I'm passionate about other things, but these are four of the biggest things I'm passionate about, and wanted to share. Maybe I'll share some of my other passions later.
